“You can do hard things.”
About Me
Hi, I’m Taylor, a Licensed Professional Counselor.
When you meet with me, I want you to feel connected, listened to, and genuinely valued for your experiences. Clients often notice that I am laid-back, open, and a little scatterbrained at times—but I always focus on the issues that matter to you, while gently pushing toward growth. I am approachable, flexible, and create a space where you can feel comfortable exploring your challenges while gaining practical skills to navigate them.
I believe everyone has the power to change their circumstances and to make choices that feel right for them, even in a world that may not always accommodate or understand them. I am energized when clients give feedback, take steps toward their goals, and show growth, no matter how small. My goal is to help you feel empowered to face challenges, make decisions, and build the life you want—on your own terms.
What I tend to focus on
-
I am a queer and gender nonconforming person myself, and I have experience and a passion for supporting this community. I prioritize validating your identity, helping you navigate the unique challenges of being a minority, and linking you with resources that support your journey. The most meaningful shift I witness is when clients feel comfortable in their identity and empowered to make choices that align with their values, not others.
-
I am drawn to helping people feel more in control of their lives. I focus on identifying your values, what’s within your control, and what isn’t. The shifts that feel most meaningful are when clients take action on things they’ve been avoiding—whether small steps like organizing their home or larger steps like advocating for themselves at work.
-
As a neurodivergent person myself, I understand how overwhelming mental health challenges can feel in a world that isn’t always accommodating. I pay attention to where you struggle most, helping you develop coping strategies or find practical accommodations that make life easier. The most meaningful outcomes are when clients feel better emotionally and are able to pursue the things that matter to them.
How I Help
I am laid-back, informal, and flexible, moving at a pace that fits your needs. I balance directness with comfort, and while insight is important, I also prioritize skills and practical strategies—often assigning small “homework” tasks to reinforce growth between sessions.
When therapy is working well, clients feel capable of taking action in ways that were previously blocked, whether that’s tackling everyday tasks or standing up for themselves in challenging situations.
What Clients Often Experience
Clients often share that our work helps them:
Feel accepted, affirmed, and empowered
Experience greater confidence in relationships, parenting, and self-advocacy
Reduce anxiety and improve emotional resilience
Gain practical tools to navigate life’s challenges
Feel a renewed ability to breathe, thrive, and move forward
More About Me
Outside of therapy, I am a creative at heart. I love crocheting, making art, spending time with my dogs and partner, and watching movies or documentaries to learn something new. I have many hobbies and enjoy exploring them. As a queer, neurodivergent person with personal experience navigating mental health challenges, I understand how intimidating therapy can feel and I strive to make the process approachable, validating, and empowering.
