About Me
Hi, I’m Sydney, a Licensed Professional Counselor.
I believe that every client’s journey is unique and deserving of curiosity, compassion, and clarity. I create a calm, grounding, and structured space where you can feel seen, understood, and empowered to explore your inner world at your own pace.
At the heart of my work is the belief that healing cannot be forced through shame — it unfolds through self-compassion and alignment with your values. Much of our suffering comes from living out of sync with what truly matters to us. I help clients reconnect to themselves, strengthen their relationships, and move toward a renewed sense of purpose. The “ah-ha” moments—when clarity replaces confusion and clients begin crafting their own narrative—are what energize me most in my clinical work.
What I tend to focus on
-
I am deeply drawn to trauma work because I understand how experiences are stored in the body and can impact life long-term. I help clients build mind-body awareness and fully process emotions so they can step into empowerment, establish boundaries, and cultivate peace and forgiveness.
-
I enjoy helping men recognize that masculinity and emotional insight can coexist. Through somatic approaches and exploration of core beliefs that contribute to emotional suppression, I celebrate when clients begin opening up and experiencing the benefits of emotional connection.
-
I am passionate about helping women give themselves permission to slow down and prioritize their own needs. Using somatic approaches and Internal Family Systems techniques, I help identify protective parts that drive overfunctioning. It is powerful to witness clients gain insight and recognize their capacity to live with intention rather than pressure.
-
I help couples strengthen connection, rebuild trust, and improve communication. Using evidence-based Gottman Method strategies, I guide partners in navigating challenges together while deepening emotional intimacy and stability.
How I Help
My therapeutic style is direct yet client-centered. I blend structure with flexibility to ensure sessions remain focused, effective, and aligned with your priorities. When therapy is progressing well, clients experience emotional peace, trust their own judgment, and begin using their emotions as a compass for decision-making. They develop deeper contentment, connection, and fulfillment in their relationships and daily lives.
Clients often tell me they feel at ease from the very first session—even if counseling initially feels intimidating. I combine clinical depth with a relatable, approachable presence, offering education and insight that helps you make sense of your emotions, patterns, and experiences.
Behavioral Health Advocacy & Community Engagement
Advocacy is a core passion of mine. I am a member of the Ohio Counselor’s Association, attend the annual Ohio Counselors Advocacy Day to meet with representatives, and serve on the association’s Government Relations Committee to advocate for mental health needs at the state level.
Locally, I represent Restorative Pathways Counseling in multiple community initiatives, including the Muskingum County Suicide Prevention Coalition, Muskingum County Family and Children First Council, Council for Community Resources, Muskingum County Overdose and Suicide Fatality Review Board, Healthier Muskingum County Network, Collective Impact, and Safety Council.
I also lead RPC’s partnership with the Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department to conduct the 2026–2028 Community Health Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan. This work allows us to survey the community, identify true barriers to accessing mental health care, and lead meaningful initiatives to address those barriers in the years ahead.
“Let all that you do be done in love.”
More About Me
Outside of my role as a provider, I love reading across genres, spending time at home or adventuring with my husband and bonus son, moving my body through hiking, hot yoga, or strength training, and enjoying meaningful time with friends and family.
Born and raised in Muskingum County, I care deeply about this community and understand its unique strengths and challenges. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Muskingum University and my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of the Southwest.
