Kamryn Layton, MS, LPC
“I am a person through other people. I am because we are, and my humanity is tied to yours.”
About MeHi, I’m Kamryn, a Licensed Professional Counselor.
I believe everyone deserves a space where they can express themselves fully and know that they are seen, understood, and accepted. I offer a space that is warm, safe, and open; one where clients feel empowered and valued.
I believe growth happens when we truly connect to ourselves and others without judgement, gaining clarity about what is important to us. I support clients as they build new insights, explore their inner world, strengthen relationships, and author their stories. I feel especially energized in my work when clients discover a new insight that “connects the dots” for them.
What I tend to focus on
-
I am drawn to this work because self-esteem impacts nearly every part of our lives. In sessions, I focus on helping clients notice patterns in self-talk, explore core beliefs, and begin shifting toward self-neutrality. One of the most meaningful parts of this work is witnessing a shift from harsh self-criticism toward a more balanced and neutral internal voice.
-
Identity exploration is so important because it shapes how we move through and experience the world. In sessions, I’ll encourage clients to explore interests, values, core beliefs, and internalized messages. In this work, I am most moved by shifts toward self-acceptance and alignment, when clients begin to feel more grounded in who they are and how they want to live.
-
I am a firm believer that anxiety is a tool for navigating the world that sometimes over-exerts itself. I have experience supporting clients with anxiety and pay close attention to thought patterns, internalized messages, and the ways anxiety shows up in daily life. I get curious with clients about what their anxiety is trying to do for them and how they can incorporate mindfulness to both appreciate and manage their anxiety. It is especially meaningful when clients are able to acknowledge and appreciate the intention of their anxiety while still staying grounded when it’s present.
How I Help
My approach is collaborative and semi-structured, balancing insight-oriented exploration with practical application skills. I believe the client is the agent of change in their life, and I am merely a facilitator of that change. I aim to empower clients towards change that enriches their lives and focuses on how they want to live.

More About Me
Outside of the therapy room, I feel grounded in nature, movement, and cuddles with my cats! I recharge through exercise, playing video games, and spending time with loved ones. These parts of my life help me stay connected, balanced, and present in my work.
