About Me

Hi, I’m Josie, a Counselor Trainee.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed, navigating a new chapter, or simply trying to better understand yourself, you don’t have to figure it all out alone. I believe that counseling should be a space where you feel safe, heard, and genuinely valued.

As a counselor trainee, I take a warm, gentle, and collaborative approach to counseling. I believe each person deserves the space to show up as their authentic self, without judgment, and that collaborative work is at the root of healing. I see myself as a passenger in your car as you navigate your next chapter—you remain in the driver’s seat, while I offer support, empathy, and encouragement along the way.

My goal is to create a therapeutic relationship grounded in warmth, unconditional positive regard, and empathy. I want you to feel comfortable bringing your full experience into the room while we work together to better understand what you’re experiencing and identify steps that feel meaningful to you.

What I tend to focus on

How I Help

My therapeutic style is gentle, collaborative, and both structured and flexible. I want you to guide me in understanding your experience, while I provide support and direction when it feels helpful. We can balance reflection and insight with practical coping strategies, allowing our work to move at a pace that feels appropriate for you.

I don’t believe there is one right way to navigate life. Instead, I want to understand what your experience is like and work alongside you to identify what feels meaningful and useful. Your story matters, and you deserve to take up space in the counseling room.

More About Me

Outside of counseling, I value warm, trusting relationships and finding ways to stay grounded in the present moment. Yoga is one way I reconnect with myself, and I enjoy spending time in nature. These parts of my life reflect something I value in counseling as well: creating space to slow down, reconnect, and be present with where you are.
