Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor

Hi, I’m Courtney Wolford, a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor here at Restorative Pathways. You might also call me a safe space creator, goal setter, and a listening ear. I help adolescents and young adults who struggle with anxiety, depression, self esteem, aspects of identity, body image, and those who have faced traumatic events. I believe that we all have resiliency against what life throws at us, but sometimes we need professional guidance and support to get us where we are trying to go.

1. Safe Space – A safe space is truly what everyone is looking for when they come to counseling. Without it, no progress would ever be made. I provide the same quality care for everyone, regardless of race, sexuality, gender identity, faith, etc. I have spent my entire career learning about identifies different from my own, and aim to help my clients gain love and acceptance for themselves.

2. Goal Setter – I believe counseling is the most effective when we have a goal we are working towards. Most importantly, that it’s your goal. Sometimes our goal is to vent and have someone hear us, other times it’s to change certain behaviors. Regardless of the goal, I work with clients to help set them and make actionable steps towards them.

3. A Listening Ear – We’ve all been there. We just need someone to listen, not always provide feedback. Even for those who need that feedback or guidance, we need that guidance to come from someone who actually heard our concerns and struggles. It’s not a skill we are born with, but I’ve spent many years practicing the art of listening and then responding; listening to what you need and then providing such.

How I Can Help

I implement evidenced base practiced so that you can learn the skills to tackle life’s twists and turns to the best of your ability. The goal is to, as the saying goes, teach you to fish so you can eat for a lifetime.

More About Me

You can find me learning everything I can about music in my down time, from the history of the world’s most famous songs to learning to make it myself. When I’m not being musical, I’m spending time with my loved ones, playing with my cat, writing poetry, and taking care of my indoor garden.
